lemonade is a literary magazine that aims to celebrate the small things in life. Through the quiet yet relentless passing of time, these little things, like leaves blown towards the backyard, invite themselves to uniformly become the landscape of our daily lives. And just like those leaves, they get blown away again, worn out by the sweepings of our minds.
Before such landscapes pass on to distant memory, through our artistic expressions we hope to slow down the rotation of life together, to capture flashes of the present brilliance that is so intimate, yet fleeting. In doing so we remind ourselves of where we are, what we have, or oftentimes, just to feel something.
Let our art be recollections of our human nature, our instinctive sympathies, and our love for the insignificant.
Linh is an 18-year-old literature lover from Ha Noi. You can always find her trying to read or thinking about what to read amidst trying to crochet or playing guitar. Amidst such frenzies of life, creative writing helps her to slow down to make sense of the smaller thing. She loves to experiment with different prose styles, and occasionally dabbles in notes-app poetry. She is currently reading ‘Slouching Towards Bethlehem’ by Joan Didion.Favourite citrus: Pomelo !
Sadhika is Sadhika, at least most of the time – unless, she finds herself navigating the social constructs of marriage as Elizabeth Bennet (Pride & Prejudice), devising a strategy to make it out alive as Katniss Everdeen (The Hunger Games) or living life through some other lens with a book in her hand. She is a 17-year-old Indian girl living in Vietnam and is also the self-published author of a children’s book called ‘Carota Land’. She has loved books all her life (well, as soon as she could read) and enjoys writing even more.Favourite citrus: Pomelo !
Hung is an 18 year old who loves to explore poetry, music, and soon more? You probably cannot find him, but he should be pretending to be a pianist or scrambling himself for poetry - especially if it’s past midnight. His creative endeavour began quite recently, so he certainly should get grinding with books. Poetry is his way of emotional and creative discovery, and it’s certainly a pleasant surprise how all rules in art eventually end up broken (if there is one that is not, let him know). He hopes Lemonade helps people discover and connect with the arts, and wants to see what everyone has got to offer.Favourite citrus: Guess. He doesn't know either !
Chau is an 18-year-old student currently living in Hanoi. She is an avid music listener (who can’t possibly live a day without her precious earphones) and has a keen interest in pop culture, but is especially passionate about the arts. Chau has always been making art throughout her life, from messy doodles on her bedroom walls and random drawings inside her notebooks, to paintings that are almost the size of her body. Just as much as art has brought her comfort and solace in life, she hopes that others can also feel and connect with the arts that Lemonade has to offer in the near future.Favourite citrus: Tangerine !

When was the last time you held back your words and later felt physically ill because you regretted that? How about the last time you stood there paralysed with fear because you could not find the courage to disagree with the room? Who here rehearses their ‘I-should-have-said-this’ monologues in the shower?lemonade’s 2nd issue is about letting those thoughts and emotions out. ‘No offence but …’ – imagine if these words could protect your social filter. What would you do?The indignance, regret, and frustration of not being able to express yourself can eat you up, like a sweeping tornado in your stomach that destroys the sunlit landscape of your day And guess what, it is soooo okay to just…let it all out.If you really want, you can always give colors to those emotions. You can always twist, exaggerate, and mull over that terrible moment with your papers and pens. So, make peace with yourself by creating something out of that embarrassment and anger! We are looking for the what-ifs, the brutal honesty, alternate universe scenarios of you standing up for yourself, or just throwing hands because sometimes, you need to get downright MESSY!!SUBMIT WHEN UR READY!
